This is the element that you are probably most familiar with, at least if you’ve ever visited ToolsUnited or your company uses a SalesSupport Server.

The navigation bar helps you to

  • Navigate to ToolsUnited

You’re now in the parametric search of ToolsUnited. You can also switch to “My Items” to instead search for items in the ToolLink data base. For example if you’ve uploaded one or more items, but they didn’t connect properly to the item requests. Search the “My items” section for the item ID to check if the item uploaded correctly. You still need to use the “Overwrite item” function from the item list to connect the item though.

Another reason to use the ToolsUnited search is to find a similar item to the one requested. This is very helpful for semi-standard items.

Just open one similar item, click “copy & edit”, change the values and then go back to your item list and use the “Overwrite item” function if necessary.

  • Change your user

You can change your Company and personal details here, your county and Email and also standard language, classification system and unit base. Whenever you log into ToolLink, these will be the default settings.

Below that you can click the Change password section and enter your new password twice.

Save your changes by entering your old password and clicking the button.

  • Change session settings

In this drop down, you can change the language/unit base and preferred classification system for this one session only. Especially if you produce both, metric and imperial tools, you will use this section a lot.

  • Sign out

Use this function to sign out of ToolLink. If you close your browser you will be automatically singed out after a few minutes, but use this if you want to make sure.

  • Imports

On hover, wou can see your last 5 imports here and also the progress of any active import. You can also download the Import Report of the last imports or delete the import. This will not stop an active import. If you have to do that because you’ve uploaded like 10 thousand items, just contact us instead. The delete button will only remove the download from this list to make it easier for you to manage.

If you click the Imports button instead of using the drop down, you have a better view on the list, adding Start-date and Last Updated, and are also able to use the Import function at the bottom right.

This Import button is the “expert mode” and has a few more options than the one in the main window.

Imports/Exports

  • Exports

The same as your Imports, this shows the list of your last exports on hover. You can download the export on the downward arrow, restart the download if something went wrong or delete it on the trash can.

If you click the Exports button instead of using the drop down, you have a better view on the list, adding Start-date and Last Updated and the page navigation.

  • Imports/ExportsTool lists

This function lets you manage tools in your own groups.

  • Menu

You can view the import templates and administration area here.

  • Imports/ExportsQuick Navigation

This is where you can quickly return to any previous area or go straight back to your item list /start area
